London Dentures is not a typical denturist clinic. We bridge the gap that exists between the denture and dental services and integrate the two as one unique service. Since London Dentures is located inside of Riverpark Dental it provides denture patients with the same unparalleled experience as the dental patients.
All visitors are encouraged to take a tour and to a free consultation with one of our dentists in Education Centre. Our dentists work closely with Esperanza (the person who fabricates our dentures) who is a clinical instructor for dentures & removable at UWO. Patients can view videos of the procedures they are interested in and learn about the fees. Our fees are considered average by London's standards. For your comfort we offer service in English, Spanish, German, Polish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese and Italian.
Patients comment on how London Dentures does not look or feel like a denturist practice and on the personalized treatment they receive. The patients choose London Dentures for their denture needs for 4 reasons:
At London Dentures we believe that by creating a different type of experience. An experience that is most welcoming, pleasant, non-invasive where the patients have the opportunity to learn about dentistry before getting into the dental chair will erase the negative connotations associated with the visit to the dentist.
Since London Dentures is part of Riverpark Dental, the denture patients can enjoy the same amenities as regular patients. The objective is to provide a practice that will provide the best overall experience for the patient, while still keeping the fees at the same level as other dentists.
The fear and dislike of dentists inspired Dr. Martinez to create a place that did not look or feel like a denturist office or a dental practice, where people feel relaxed and enjoy visiting. So far it has been working (see testimonials)
When you walk in you will be greeted by a Patient Care Specialist who will help you relax and enjoy your stay. This person will be happy to give you a tour of your practice.
You will meet the dentist who will discuss your oral health goals and concerns. We have 3 general dentists with expertise in dentures. The purpose of this conversation is to find out your goals, needs and concerns. While dentures is an option a lot of people are familiar with, there are many other options to save and replace your teeth. The purpose of this consultation is for you to get a feel of this dental practice and London Dentures, the people and decide whether you like to stay with us.
Our Treatment Education Centre is designated specifically for that purpose. Once we understand your unique situation we will work with you to determine an action plan that fits your goals and constraints. Through videos, computer animations and other hands-on tools you will understand exactly what is being done and feel confident to co-design your dental treatment. We are never tired of your questions.
The dental/denture diagnostic at London Dentures is done using top of the line digital technology. As such there is no need for you to ask your former dentist for your records.

Dentures are divided into two main categories: complete dentures and partial dentures. If you are missing many teeth, we may recommend dentures or partials.
Complete dentures are designed to replace the teeth in an entire arch when all the teeth are missing. Partial dentures are used when there are still teeth present in the arch. Complete and partial dentures can provide patients with a functional replacement when teeth have been lost. Complete dentures consist of an acrylic base to imitate gum tissue, and the teeth that can be made of acrylic or porcelain. The denture base is made to closely fit the contours of the arch to ensure the denture is stable during normal oral functions such as eating, speaking, or swallowing. Partial dentures can be made with a metal framework that has acrylic base and teeth attached in the areas where the teeth are missing. The metal framework also has clasps or arms that extend out and fit around some of the existing teeth. The combination of the acrylic base and the arms that wrap around some of the teeth keep the partial denture stable during normal oral functions.
There are a lot of indications for the patients wearing dentures in order to maintain the health of oral tissues. The dentist will provide all necessary information for patient education. These prosthetics can be fixed or removable, and with modern dental materials, they look totally natural.
Sometimes before placing the denture some teeth must be removed. The advantage at London Dentures is that the same dentist who will be fabricating the denture (with Esperanza) is the dentist who will be doing the extraction. By owning the entire process we have a better control of the outcome and can address any needs that could come along the way. All three dentists who do dentures - Dr. Carlos Lopez, Dr. Elizabeth Lee and Dr. Angela Ma are very versed in extractions.
There are two types of extractions:
A regular extraction is performed on a tooth that can be seen in the mouth. Most of these can be done using a local anesthetic, with or without anti-anxiety drugs.
A surgical extraction involves teeth that cannot be seen easily in the mouth. They may have broken off at the gum line or they may not have come in yet. Most simple extractions do not cause much discomfort after the procedure. Because surgical extractions are more complicated, they generally cause more discomfort after the procedure. The level of discomfort and how long it lasts will depend on the difficulty of the extraction. The dentist will prescribe medicine to alleviate pain.
What is it?
A regular denture rests on the gums. An implant-supported denture is a type of denture that is supported by and attached to implants and tends to fit more firmly in the mouth.
You may want to consider an implant supported denture if you are unhappy with the performance of your existing denture. An implant-supported denture has special attachments that snap onto attachments on the implants. These attachments allow you to easily bite and chew your food and prevent your dentures from falling out while eating, talking or laughing.
An implant-supported denture is used when a person doesn't have any teeth in the jaw, but has enough bone in the jaw to support implants. Implant-supported dentures can be made for both the lower and the upper jaw. An implant-supported denture for your upper covers less of your palate (roof of your mouth) than a regular denture, greatly increasing your ability to taste and enjoy foods. Implant-supported dentures require at least two implants for support. These dentures are removed daily to clean the denture and gums and nightly for sleeping. If you would prefer a more permanent option then fixed crown and bridgework can be made on implants that can't be removed.
How Does it Work?
An implant-supported denture has special attachments that snap onto attachments on the implants.
There are two types of implant-supported dentures: bar-retained and ball-retained. In both cases, the denture will be made of an acrylic base that will look like gums. Porcelain or acrylic teeth that look like natural teeth are attached to the base. Bar-retained dentures require at least three implants. Ball-retained dentures need at least two.
You can remove an implant-supported denture easily. Some people prefer to have fixed (permanent) crown and bridgework in their mouths that can't be removed. The dentist will consider your particular needs and preferences when suggesting fixed or removable options.

Although no dentist can guarantee painless dentistry, there are steps that can be taken to aliviate the pain. In an effort to provide the most enjoyable patient experience and stay on top of advances in dentistry London Dentures offers the Single Tooth Anesthesia (STA) system. There are still very few practices that offer this system.
What this system does is allow for "freezing" without the needle to the gum. Instead, the anaesthetic is placed in the space between the gum and the tooth. Therefore the patient gets the freezing without the needle.
Traditional freezing leaves a large part of the jaw numb. The other advantage of this system is that it freezes just the tooth that needs to be frozen. Because the anaesthetic is controlled by a computer, the dentist can effectively administer only as much anaesthetic as is needed.
The customized dentures and other restorations will give you the most natural appearance. Many of our patients comment how the dentures don't look or feel like dentures.
